Malombe’s wife Edith tells women to vote for him

Women in Kitui will form a bloc to help Governor Julius Malombe retain his seat, his wife Edith Mawia said on Tuesday. She said Kitui women have benefitted from Malombe’s administration and can only reward him by backing his re-election.“In terms of giving jobs to women, the Kitui administration has gone beyond the 30 per cent threshold.

Women in Kitui will form a bloc to help Governor Julius Malombe retain his seat, his wife Edith Mawia said on Tuesday. She said Kitui women have benefitted from Malombe’s administration and can only reward him by backing his re-election.

“In terms of giving jobs to women, the Kitui administration has gone beyond the 30 per cent threshold. In fact, 37 per cent of county jobs have been given to women,” Edith said. She spoke at Tseikuru Primary School in Mwingi North subcounty, Kitui. Edith helped to raise Sh1.4 million for the Tseikuru Women Sacco.
