One of Kenya's legendary and most revered music bands Them Mushrooms will headline the upcoming edition of the monthly music event An Evening of Afro Jazz.
Mushrooms are also one of the country's most successful bands in a well-rounded sense.
The band has helped launch and re-launch recording careers for other local artistes.
Popular for songs such as Jambo Bwana, Wazee Wakatike, Si Nguo and Ni Jumamosi, the band is slated to perform at the Nairobi's Alliance Francaise on August 5.
Also on stage at the bi-monthly event will be singer Kwame, who has been dubbed the 'Cupid’s Chanteur'.

Kwame defines his music as Urban Folk, a medley of styles ranging from rhumba and Afro-soul to Ethiopian Gurage.
The event, dubbed Legends Edition, will also see the popular Ricky Na Marafiki band entertain fans.
