Controversial businessman Jacob Juma aggressively attacked multiple prominent personalities on Twitter and social media. He was shot dead by gunmen on Thursday evening.

Posting as @kabetes on Twitter, he fought bitter battles with debt collector Brian Yongo, former Mining CS Najib Balala over the cancellation of his rare earth licence, Finance CS Henry Rotich over the Eurobond, and others.

His most recent tweets particularly targeted the Jubilee government, and specifically Deputy President William Ruto who he claimed wanted to silence him.

However Juma disliked criticism and blocked from his sites those who challenged him on social media.

On December 10 last year, he posted that "the person who is obsessed with plans to kill me is William Ruto. I am aware about it. i know that my assassination was discussed on Tuesday."

Ruto's lawyers immediately wrote to Juma denying any such plans and demanding that he withdraw the tweet.

A week later Juma tagged President Uhuru Kenyatta's Twitter handle and posted "Mr @UKenyatta am not a coward. I have reached the pinnacle of my life and am not scared of death. I will not run away from Kenya, my country."

Last year Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinet announced that no-one could own an armoured car without a license.

"This is how low this government has sunk! Now William Ruto is sponsoring laws to get at my armoured limousine. Very cheap," Juma then tweeted in July 2015.

In January this year, Juma wrote a post on Facebook claiming that the government was planning to assassinate him over his stand on corruption.

"I will never give up fighting corruption as that is cowardice. I am happy about NYS, Langata Primary School land, Weston Hotel land, NHIF Karen land, Ruai Sewage land and Eurobond scandals that I have been at the centre of their fight for recovery back to the people of Kenya," he concluded.

"I am ready and willing to die for the sake of this nation if that will save us from corruption. I have lived long enough to worry about death," Juma posted on Facebook.

"I am glad that William Ruto knows that I hate him. If I get Ruto in heaven, I will request God to send me to hell. I have no regrets for it," he posted a few weeks ago on April 10.

Jacob Juma:

Juma was a vocal supporter of opposition leader Raila Odinga. After the recent teargassing of Cord leaders when they protested to the IEBC, Juma heavily criticised the government.

"Kenya government is now officially back into the hands of thugs, looters, gangsters, madmen, killers, terrorists, zombies and rapists," Juma tweeted on April 25.

"Mr @UKenyatta your dictatorship leadership will plunge Kenya into another Bosnia. You can't use armed Police and APs to stop CORD from IEBC," he said in a further post.

On April 20, he also criticised the Judiciary and IEBC.

"Dealing with IEBC and Supreme Court is like marrying a slut from Koinange street and expecting her to be loyal and faithful. She can't!!!," Juma posted on Twitter.
