KPLC may have to pay for property lost during outages

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company could soon be forced to compensate individuals who incur losses or get injured due to power outages or irregular supply. This is after amendments to the Energy Bill 2015, introduced by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, were passed by the National Assembly on Thursday.

The Kenya Power and Lighting Company could soon be forced to compensate individuals who incur losses or get injured due to power outages or irregular supply. This is after amendments to the Energy Bill 2015, introduced by Mvita MP Abdulswamad Nassir, were passed by the National Assembly on Thursday.

The amendments will go to the Senate for discussion.
