Deputy President William Ruto has said the victory of Jubilee candidate Aaron Cheruiyot in the just concluded senatorial by-election in Kericho is an indication that the party

was a political vehicle of "today

and the future".

Speaking on

Saturday in Kericho County during the thanksgiving

ceremony of Cheruiyot, Ruto said the win has astounded critics who thought that the Opposition was making inroads to Jubilee areas.

“The election of the Jubilee candidate is a new dawn emerging that Kenyans can now differentiate from those engaging in development and those focusing their attention in empty rhetoric,” He said.

He said the triumph by Jubilee was a rehearsal of what will happen in next year’s General Election.

“We cannot say we are united when we belong to many political parties. This is why we have come together for the sake of unity of all Kenyans,” Ruto said.

Those who accompanied Ruto included Majority Leader Aden Duale and his Senate counterpart Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso and the Senate’s deputy Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen.

Duale said efforts to unite the country under one formidable political party, the Jubilee Party were unstoppable adding “Our plans to unite all our affiliate parties under Jubilee Party are complete.

Murkomen told those opposing the Government from within that their days were numbered.

“We want to tell those who are undermining the leadership of the Deputy President that they cannot lead a community on top of the horse. There is no reward for rebels,” he said.

He said Jubilee cannot allow Kenyans to be divided into village parties.

The leaders unanimously endorsed the move to merge all the parties and urged Ruto to work with the President in seeking for support outside the region.

This comes after Electoral Commission against Kanu, unless the party substantiates claims the the Kericho by-election for Jubilee Party's Aaron Cheruiyot.

The IEBC said it had constituted the Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee to commence the process of invoking the appropriate sanctions against Kanu.

But Kanu secretary general Nick Salat scoffed at the IEBC threats, saying the onus was on the commission to thoroughly investigate its electoral officers to “prove".
