Last week, Dr Susan Mboya-Kidero, the wife of Nairobi City County governor Evans Kidero, launched the Goal Programme in Nairobi County.
It aims to empower and equip adolescent girls with the confidence, knowledge and skills needed to be integral economic leaders in their families, communities and societies as well as through a combination of sports and life skills training.
The programme also aims to reach an additional 500,000 adolescent girls between 2013 - 2018 across the Standard Chartered Bank’s global footprint and a total of 600,000 girls by January 2019.
Kenya has joined other African countries including Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, Liberia, Mauritius, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone as part of Goal programme host countries.
