A visiting senator from the United States of America has asked the US and European nations to review their travel advisories against Kenya.

South Dakota Senator Craig Tieszen said Kenya is a safe country for tourists and investors. He said Western countries should review advisories it had imposed on the country, to encourage more investors to come to Kenya.

Tieszen said terror attacks and threats should not isolate Kenya as those crimes are global issues.

“It is unfortunate that many Americans are ignorant about Kenya and the security situation on the ground,” he said.

Tieszen is in the country alongside six other senators, ahead of US President Barack Obama's expected to visit in July.

Tieszen made the remarks when he paid a courtesy call on Bomet Deputy Governor Stephen Mutai at the county headquarters yesterday.
