Security chairman Asman Kamama has said Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter is forgiven for implicating him in the Gilgil Weighbridge drama.

The Tiaty MP reiterated that he did not call any Kenya National Highways Authority officials for the release of an impounded truck.

"I never made any calls to the weighbridge. When we were at Naivasha during our treat, Keter never requested me for the release of the trucks," he said.

Addressing the press at the offices of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday, Kamama said he did not have any of the officials' phone numbers.

He however asked Keter to apologise to the officers he insulted and threatened with dismissal from work.

Kamama alleged widespread corruption at all the weighbridges from Mariakani to Malaba and asked for a quick solution.

He said several police officers have declined promotions to other posts as a result.

State House Comptroller Lawrence Lenayapa also appeared before the EACC and recorded a statement over the incident.

Lenayapa however left without addressing the media.

Keter claimed on camera that Kamama, Lenayapa and Nakuru county commissioner Osman Warfa tried to reach the Kenha officials to order them to release the truck.

Warfa denied making any calls in his statement at the EACC on Wednesday.

The drilling truck belonging to Nominated MP Sonia Birdi had been detained for lack of a key permit.
