AP officer caught selling relief food

There was drama at Kalalu trading centre in Laikipia East Sub-County after an Administration Police officer was intercepted selling relief food. Officials from area constituency office monitoring relief food distribution found officer in charge of Kalalu administration police camp allegedly selling the foodstuff at a local posho mill.

Ruth Wambura, a member of the distribution committee in Kalalu sub location, Umande location said the officer was intending to sell three bags of maize to the business man.

“I had come to collect the relief food for the HIV positive and the disabled people at the chief’s camp only to find motor cycles ferrying bags of maize to the posho mill” said Wambura.

She added that she followed the motor cycles and confronted the business man identified as Kabiru, who said he bought the commodity and would continue doing so, saying during that time the police officer was standing there and when asked he denied that the maize was his.
