United Democratic Front leader Musalia Mudavadi has pledged to end tribalism. The Deputy Prime Minister said he was committed to reviving the economy. Musalia, who took his campaigns for the top seat, to Dagoreti and Westlands in Nairobi yesterday decried the increasing insecurity terming it a hindrance to development. He promised that his government will employ more police officers to guarantee security to all Kenyans. He also called on Kenyans to come out in large numbers and vote for him so as he can win in the first round to avoid a runoff to save taxpayer’s money.

“The load we are carrying in terms of shouldering for the cost for the this elections is already too heavy and we cannot afford to carry it twice. I am ready to finish this race in the first round. The game should be strictly 90 minutes with no extra time so as we do not spend more in the name of a runoff. Your vote that will make me the president in the first round will mean an end to tribalism, and high costs of living,” Musalia told supporters at Kiumbuni stadium in Kangemi.
