Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday inspected the construction of Rironi–Mau Summit superhighway and praised workers for their dedication to the project.
Kindiki said the completion of the road would be remembered as a milestone in Kenya’s progress, with the contribution of the workers recorded in history.
"This work is not only for your livelihood; you are also contributing to national development," he said.
The DP highlighted the government’s broader agenda of implementing development projects to ensure that skilled youth have opportunities to apply their talents.
He pointed to the establishment of the National Infrastructure Fund, which mobilises resources from the government and investors to support projects like the superhighway.
Kindiki said meaningful employment shields young people from political manipulation, keeps them focused on their work and strengthens the nation’s progress.
