camp at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground in Kisumu on June 12, 2026/HANDOUTHundreds of Kisumu residents benefited from a free medical services during a medical camp organised by journalists under the Jofuambo Welfare Association at the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground on Friday.
The day-long event, held in partnership with the Kenya Medical Education Trust (KMET), the Kisumu county government, Nyakamami Foundation, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital and the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union (KMPDU) - Nyanza branch.
The residents received free screening, consultation and treatment for various illnesses.
The initiative is part of Jofuambo Welfare Group's ongoing commitment to promoting community well-being and improving access to essential healthcare services for vulnerable populations.
The event also underscored the role of journalists in supporting community welfare beyond the newsroom.
