There is heavy police presence in the Nairobi Central Business District over Tuesday's planned peaceful protests.
In pictures seen by the Star, anti-riot police are moving around in police vehicles.
The officers are also seen outside critical buildings in the CBD including Parliament buildings and the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).
However, many shops remain closed, with very few establishments operating.
The roads are also deserted with few vehicles operating on city roads.
