Some sections of the Nairobi Central Business District on Thursday mirrored a ghost town as Kenya Defence Forces officials patrolled the capital.

In photos seen by the Star, many shops in the CBD remained closed with pockets of Kenyans spotted in some parts of the CBD.

Other residents were earlier seen cheering the KDF officers as their convoy snaked through the capital.

The Tom Mboya statue along Moi Avenue still stands tall, however, the protesters added a little mischief.

The statue holds a "Reject not Amend' placard with a face mask and goggles to match. The protesters also burden the statue with a bottle of water, a teargas canister and some handbags.

One protester is also spotted waving the national flag uninhibited.

The City Hall which was a centre of action on Tuesday when protesters torched a section of it, today is quiet and peaceful with minimal activities.

Kenyans along the Archives area also watch keenly as the KDF officers disembark from one of the lorries that ferried them to the city.
