The first contingent of 400 police officers on Tuesday arrived in Haiti.

The officers left JKIA at 7 pm on Monday and boarded the Kenya Airways (KQ) plane to Haiti.

They were seen off by Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki Kithure, Principals Secretary Raymond Omollo and Inspector General Japhet Koome.

They arrived at Port-au-Prince ahead of the start of their mission.

Ambassador Hankins was on hand to welcome them.

 “This mission will support the Haitian National Police as they increase their anti-gang operations, build their capacity to maintain public safety, and ensure that humanitarian assistance reaches those in need.” White House said.
