President William Ruto has flagged off the first group of 400 police officers to Haiti.

Ruto said Kenya has solid credentials in peace-making and conflict resolution globally.

The President added that the presence of Kenya's police officers in Haiti will give relief to the men, women and children whose lives have been broken by gang violence.

He said that the country will work with the international community to bring lasting stability to Haiti.

Ruto flagged off the police at the Administration Police Training College, Embakasi.

He was accompanied by Interior CS Kithure Kindiki and IG Japeth Koome among other leaders.
