Hundreds of Kisumu residents have flocked the streets of Kisumu protesting against the Finance Bill terming it a burden to Kenyans.

The protesters, especially the youths drawn from across the county demanded the Bill to be reconsidered.

Carrying placards and twigs, they said Kenyans are tied with punitive taxes which have made life unbearable for them.

The protesters who congregated at Kondele from 9 am peacefully protested towards the Jomo Kenyatta Sports Grounds, currently renamed Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Grounds where they addressed the press on their grievances.

Police officers were strategically deployed but kept off the streets to avoid confrontation with the protesters.
