President William Ruto on Thursday laid a commemorative wreath in honor of students who died during the Garissa University attack.
The 2015 attack by al-Shabaab militants saw 148 students killed and several others injured.
This year will be the 9th anniversary since the attack.
Ruto was in the institution to preside over the 5th Graduation ceremony.
He was accompanied by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu and his Defence counterpart Aden Duale among other leaders.
