Siaya Governor James Orengo on Wednesday commenced his visit to Canada by touring the Town of Taber by visiting the Taber Fire Hall.

Orengo was warmly welcomed by the Mayor of Taber and his team, where they engaged in productive discussions on fire preparedness, firefighter training, and the utilisation of modern technology in fire response.

The discussions focused on Siaya County's firefighting capabilities, including the use of the Fire APP and the importance of having advanced equipment.

According to Orengo the Mayor of Taber donated a $1.9 million ladder truck, specifically designed for tackling elevated fire outbreaks.

"The mayor has donated to Siaya County a $1.9 million ladder truck for elevated fire outbreaks. They have also offered to give us technical support on the establishment of modern emergency response services," Orengo said.
