President William Ruto and First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto laid a wreath at Arlington National Cemetry in the United States.

The wreath is to honour the sacrifices of American Soldiers as well as historic figures in the US, such as Thurgood Marshall and John F. Kennedy who had a profound impact on Kenya's history.

The ceremony followed a meeting with President Biden at the White House, ahead of Thursday's engagements.

Ruto's state visit to the US officially began on Wednesday despite having arrived in the country on Monday.

He had two-day engagements in Atlanta, Georgia including a meeting with Kenyans living in the US.
