Residents of Mai-Mahiu are living in fear after the area begun experiencing landslides and flooding due to the ongoing heavy rains.
On Sunday, floodwaters originating from a nearby river broke its banks, destroying houses, felling trees and blocking roads.
The incident cut off the major road from Nairobi to Mai Mahiu after heaps of rocks, mud and logs were dumped there.
The landslides have so far killed 20 people and injured several others.
According to the Kenya Red Cross, several people have been taken to a health facility in Mai Mahiu due to flash floods affecting Kamuchiri Village.
