Estates and roads have been left inaccessible after the Saturday day night rain.
The rains have left residents of Syokimau along the Syokimau-Katani Road wondering how they will be able to leave their houses.
Those travelling had to deal with delays as vehicles were stalled on the flooded road.
Some adjacent residential houses were flooded and residents were unable to move in and out.
People were having difficulty accessing Mombasa Road through that road.
Business operators were also left counting losses for the day after being unable to open their shops.
Machakos county fire department had responded to the situation by the time of going to press and were in the area to unclog the drainage system.
