First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Saturday launched empowerment projects in Kajiado.
She was accompanied by other leaders during the event where she launched empowerment projects for women, youth and people with disabilities.
The First Lady said economic empowerment promotes progress and growth that enables individuals to provide for themselves and their families.
She added that economic empowerment also improves the general welfare of the community.
Mama Rachel said Sh19 million worth of equipment was handed to Maasai Technical Training Institute in Kajiado County through the National Government Affirmative Action Plan (NGAAF).
"This is a testament to the government's commitment to empowering Wananchi for a brighter future," she said.
She was joined by Kajiado Women Representative Leah Sankaire, other leaders and members of the community.
