President William Ruto on Tuesday night interacted with the Kenyan diaspora living in Ghana.
The Head of State who was accompanied by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and Principal Secretary, State Department for Diaspora Affairs Roseline Njogu met the people in Accra.
In his Ghana visit, The Head of State will hold talks with President Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana aiming to strengthen diplomatic, trade cooperation, and historical ties between Kenya and Ghana.
State House Spokesperson Hussein Mohammed on Tuesday further highlighted that during the visit, President Ruto will emphasize the importance of collaborative efforts to strengthen and consolidate democratic governance in Africa.
He will also visit the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) headquarters in Accra, with a focus on boosting Kenyan tea and leather exports to Ghana.
"This effort will be supported by Memorandums of Understanding between private and public sector entities, aimed at improving trade between Kenya and Ghana under the AfCFTA" reads the statement.
During the meeting with President Akufo-Addo and Ruto, discussions will also centre on the climate crisis and Ghana's support for implementing the African Leaders Nairobi Declaration on Climate Change, especially the Africa Green Industrial Initiative (AGII).
