The Kenya Wildlife Services on Friday rescued a sub-adult hippo in Naivasha.

The hippo had gotten stuck in a ditch at a Hotel in Naivasha.

It was rescued by the KWS rangers and community members and driven safely back to Lake Naivasha.

"Hippos are considered a vulnerable species, primarily due to habitat loss, illegal hunting, and poaching," KWS said in a statement.

"KWS is committed to ensuring the survival of hippos and promoting conservation efforts for these magnificent creatures. Karibu, Tutunze Pamoja."
