Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura on Friday visited the scene of Thursday nights' gas explosion in Embakasi.

Mwaura interacted with survivors on his visit of the scene to assess the damage caused by the massive explosion that left three people dead and more than 280 others hospitalised.

Large crowds gathered at the scene as residents tried to come to terms with the incident.

The scene littered with burnt metal and iron sheets point to the devastating impact of the blaze that also left vehicles badly damaged and buildings inhabitable.

Some car parts were thrown a distance away from the scene of explosion with some being seen on roof tops of nearby buildings.

Even plastic tanks which residents relied on as water reservoirs were not spared by the blast.

Burnt water jerrycans scattered rooms of nearby houses.

Police, however, sealed off the area to keep away tress-passers as investigations into the incident continues.
