President William Ruto has proved with time to have a diary with no rest.

The President who left the county on Sunday night for a visit to Germany and France was back in Nairobi like he never left.

On Wednesday morning,  Ruto started his day by commissioning the country’s second microbiology laboratory.

The Sh100 million private laboratory run by Mission for Essential Drugs and Supplies (MEDS) is located at Syokimau and will go a long way in enhancing testing for microbial contamination in medical products.

Before returning to State House, the Head of State made an impromptu visit to the Kibra, Soweto B Social Housing project.

He interacted with the masons who were busy with their day-to-day activities of construction.

Ruto was accompanied by Housing PS Charles Hinga and Lang'ata MP Phelix Oduor alias Jalang'o.

The Sh7.4 billion project is aimed at producing 4055 units for slum dwellers from Kibra.  

The project under Intex firm is aimed at offering residents the opportunity to become house owners through an affordable ‘rent-to-own’ program from as low as Sh2400 per month.

The President is seeking to make Nairobi the centre of Affordable Housing Projects.

In Nairobi, some of the Ruto-initiated affordable housing projects include, the Starehe Affordable housing project which will produce 6,000 units and create 14,000 jobs while the contract was awarded to Gulf Gap Africa for Sh21 billion.

The groundbreaking of Shauri Moyo A project that was presided over by President Ruto and awarded to Epco contractor, will also have 6,000 units and create 10,000 jobs directly and indirectly.

The Mukuru kwa Reuben project will see the setup of 15,000 units
