Women in Ngaremara ward in Isiolo county are set to benefit from Sh15 million empowerment funds.

This is after Isiolo Governor Abdi Hassan Guyo on Friday raised the Sh15 million in an effort to boost women empowerment programme in Ngaremara ward.

The empowerment programme targets 190 women's groups at Ngaremara ward in Isiolo county.

Governor Guyo who was accompanied by his deputy James Lowasa and other guests acknowledged that women are the primary unit of every community.

Guyo noted that their substantial contribution to development in society especially in Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) counties due to the incomparable workload linked to them is invaluable.

Other leaders who also took part in fundraising include Isiolo Woman Rep Mumina Bonaya, Saku Mp Dido Raso and Senator Mohamed Chute.

Others include Isiolo North representative Samal Lomwa and speaker Mohamed Roba.
