In photos shared by the Presidential Communication Service, Ruto was seen having a cup of tea as he walked down the stairs at State House before going to his office.
He was also on his mobile phone, perhaps getting up to date with events of the day.
He arrived at KICC and was received by Maasai entertainers and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
Ruto will attend a Housing function at Kenya House, Kenyatta International Convention Centre from 8:30 am
At 9 am, he will also attend a closed-door session of Heads of State and Government, and Delegations at KICC Amphitheatre.
President Ruto from 10.30am will also be part of the Heads of State and Government, and Delegations at plenary in the Tsavo Conference Room
To close the summit at 2p, President Ruto and other delegates will attended the session for the announcement of the Africa Climate Summit's Nairobi Declaration at KICC Courtyard
Ruto will also make a high-level statement alongside Comoros President Azali Assoumani and African Union Commission Moussa Faki.
