Gachagua took the walk to visit his aunt Gladys Gathoni in Mathira, Nyeri County.
He said that it is always a joy to be in his home village.
"I woke up early today and took a long walk to visit my only surviving Aunty Gladys Gathoni, for blessings, advice and wise counsel," the Deputy President said.
Gachagua said it was exciting to have breakfast with his aunt at her home.
"In her, I have a mother," Gachagua said.
He noted that the visit complemented his routine walk and workout.
On his way back home, Gachagua said he was delighted to meet, interact and engage with his village mates.
"These conversations are usually very hearty and inspiring," Gachagua said.
