Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Saturday arrived at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for a crisis meeting.
He was received by Kenya Airports Authority officers a few minutes past 11 am.
The meeting was triggered by the power blackout countrywide that was experienced on Friday night which affected JKIA also.
Passengers at the immigration and baggage handling sections at JKIA were among those who were affected.
They were stranded in darkness for at least two hours.
The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) attributed the nearly 2-hour power outage at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to system failures.
In a statement released on Friday night, the authority said one of their generators failed to start.
"Following a nationwide power blackout,one of the generators serving JKIA's T1A and Parking Silo failed to start, resulting power outage in a section of the airport," KAA said.
However, at the time the state was being released at 11:36 pm, power had been restored at JKIA.
