Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was on Friday among top leaders who attended an interdenominational requiem mass in honour of the slain and injured protesters.

Azimio leader Raila Odinga, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi were the other leaders in attendance.

The event was held at Steven Kalonzo Musyoka (SKM) command centre in Karen, Nairobi.

Uhuru drove himself to the prayer service.

He arrived at the centre at around 11am and joined the other leaders for the prayer service organized by Azimio One Kenya Coalition.

Several people were last week killed during mass protests called by Azimio for three days.

No official statistics of the causalities were released by Azimio claimed at least 50 people were killed during violent clashes with anti-riot police.

The government, however, absolved the police from blame and said guns that were used to maim and kill protesters were supplied by civilians.
