Residents of Mandera county joined the rest of Kenyans in marking the 60th Madaraka Day celebrations.

The residents came out in their numbers to attend the function presided over by Mandera County Commissioner Amos Mariba and Governor Mohamed Adan Khalif.

Students from various schools and other dignitaries were also present.

The national celebrations is taking place at the Moi Stadium in Embu and is being presided over by President William Ruto.

This will be Ruto's first Madaraka Day celebrations since he was sworn in as President last year.
