Residents of Mandera county joined the rest of Kenyans in marking the 60th Madaraka Day celebrations.

Students from various schools and other dignitaries were also present.
The national celebrations is taking place at the Moi Stadium in Embu and is being presided over by President William Ruto.
This will be Ruto's first Madaraka Day celebrations since he was sworn in as President last year.
