Kawangware traders on Friday protested over the demolition of their vibandas along the Naivasha Road. 

They lit up tyres on the roads, causing a traffic snarl up along the busy Naivasha road. 

The traders have demanded to know why their source of income was destroyed. 

As they were busy lighting up tyres, police lobbed teargas to disperse them.

Public transport has been disrupted, no vehicles are ferrying people, and the available ones have hiked fares. 

Calm is slowly being restored after police intervened.
