Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya on Wednesday met visiting United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) team led by Nicklas Svenningsen.
The team is in the Country to prepare for this year's Africa Climate Week, which Kenya will host on the sidelines of and in complement to the Africa Climate Summit of September.
"The Africa Climate Week is one of four Regional Climate Weeks that will be held to build momentum ahead of COP28 in Dubai," Tuya said.
She said that the September Africa Climate Summit will provide a platform to deliberate the nexus of climate change, Africa’s development reality, and the need to push for increased investment in climate action globally and specifically in Africa.
"The role of the private sector is paramount and the business forum in the summit will provide a platform for green growth investment partnerships," Tuya said during a brainstorming session with the ACS secretariat.
