[PHOTOS] Field Marshal Muthoni Kirima surprises Mama Ngina with gifts

Filed Marshal Mary Muthoni on Thursday gifted former First Lady Mama Ngina Kenyatta with an assortment of gifts as a show of appreciation during her shaving ceremony in April, 2022. 

The former First Lady hosted Muthoni Kirima at her Muthaiga home in Nairobi. 

The veteran freedom fighter, who was accompanied by her descendants and a handful of Kikuyu elders delivered assorted gifts to express her gratitude for her assistance.

The gifts included a buck and a doe with two kids, a banana stalk, wheat and sorghum in the ceremony which was also attended by Agnes Kagure, the Nairobi based business woman and politician.

During the event at Mama Ngina's Muthaiga home, the field Marshal also brought strands of hair that were shaved from her which she said should be preserved at the museum's for posterity. 

Muthoni's highly publicised shaving ceremony was condcuted on April 4, 2022.  

The locks that she had had since 1952 were shaved by Mama Ngina in line with Muthoni's wishes.
