Chaos mar Kisumu as protesters honour Raila's call

The demos began from Kondele Roundabout

Sleeping on the roads, carrying huge rocks, blowing vuvuzelas and lighting bonfires were the scenes that marred Kisumu county as Azimio staged the third demo.

The Azimio Coalition leader called for demos on Monday and Thursday in a bid to reduce the cost of living and also to pile pressure on the executive to open the IEBC servers.

The protesters; without clothes and shoes were seen burning tyres and carrying placards written ‘Ruto must go!’

Heavy police presence was also witnessed in the lakeside city as the police walked with tear gas canisters ready to disperse the protesters.

The demos began at Kondele Roundabout where residents converged before they started their match.

As the youth displayed their antics on the streets, the police were forced to keep watch at a distance.

Owili and Nyikal were seen on top of their cars while huge crowds of residents accompanied them, some on foot and others on motorbikes.

The leaders marched towards the Kachok area to the Nyamasaria area to keep their early promise that no protests will be done within the CBD.
