President William Ruto on Monday met with his German counterpart Frank-Walter Steinmeier at Schloss Bellevue, Berlin.
Ruto later inspected a guard of honor at German's state house.
The Presdient then held a discussion with Steinmeier where they agreed to to tighten trade relations.
"Kenya and Germany will prioritize the elimination of non-tariff barriers to reduce the costs of doing business and ease the movement of goods between the two countries," Ruto said.
The President noted that the elimination of non-tariff barriers will enhance investments by German firms in Kenya and improve the balance of trade between the two countries that currently favors Germany.
"We committed to deepening economic cooperation for mutual prosperity," Ruto added.
