Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha on Friday launched the 2023-2027 Strategic Plan for the Nursing Council of Kenya.
The plan was developed with stakeholders to regulate nursing and midwifery in alignment with the constitution.
Nakhumicha praised the Council's efforts and pledged support for a highly motivated health workforce.
She said the Nursing Council of Kenya Strategic Plan aims to contribute to meeting global health outcomes and Universal Health Coverage.
"The Council's recent ISO certification confirms its QMS meets international standards," the CS said.
Nakhumicha congratulated the Council and pledged to work with stakeholders to achieve success.
She said the ministry is committed to transforming healthcare in Kenya with NC Kenya Strategic Plan.
"With a focus on regulation and promotion of nursing and midwifery standards, the Council is well-positioned to achieve its objectives with stakeholder participation," the CS affirmed her support at the launch.
