President William Ruto on Wednesday met with World Bank presidential nominee Ajay Banga at State House Nairobi.
Ruto endorsed his candidature for the World Bank top job saying Kenya supports the nomination of Banga.
"We believe he has the credentials that will help address the issues facing developing countries, particularly job creation, agriculture and climate change," he said.
Ruto expressed faith that since Banga has rich experience in the digital economy, he will "undoubtedly respond to emerging economic challenges, deliver transformative results and begin a new era in global finance and development."
Banga is the former MasterCard chief executive.
Also present during the meeting was US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman, among other US officials.
