Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta on Sunday led the heads of international election observation missions in Nigeria in a post-electoral consultative meeting in Abuja.
Uhuru, who leads the AU Election Observation Mission (AUEOM), co-hosted the meeting with the head of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Sierra Leone's former President Bai Koroma.
The meeting's objective was to discuss post-electoral reviews as the teams record their findings on Nigeria's 2023 General Elections, conducted on February 25.
Based on their findings, Uhuru is expected to hold a joint press conference with the ECOWAS mission on Monday for a preliminary statement on the electoral process.
They will later offer recommendations for improvement in future elections as part of their key mandate.
The Commonwealth, European Union, and the joint National Democratic Institute/International Republican Institute Mission (NDI/IRI) were also present during the meeting, among other international heads of mission.
