[PHOTOS] Ruto launches Taifa gas project in Mombasa

President William Ruto on Friday launched the Taifa Gas project launched at Dongo Kundu in Mombasa County.

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said the project will see households benefit from cheaper and cleaner energy for domestic use. 

"As of now, 70 per cent of Kenyan households still rely on firewood to cook, an option that is detrimental to health and our environment," Gachagua said. 

Rigathi said the initiative fits perfectly in the Bottom-Up Plan that seeks to improve the lives and the dignity of most Kenyans through safer and healthier cooking options.
