US First Lady Jill Biden on Friday paid a courtesy meeting to Mama Rachel, shortly after her arrival, at State House, Nairobi.
The meeting, according to a statement by the White House, was closed-door.
Jill arrived in the country for a two-day visit to the country in the evening, where she was received by Mama Rachel and EAC CS Rebecca Miano.
Her visit seeks to strengthen partnerships between Kenya and the US.
Among the issues she will touch on, is women's economic empowerment projects.
On Saturday she will meet with local women as part of Rachel's Joyful Women initiative.
The Joyful Women Program table banking model is active in 39 out of 47 counties in Kenya and aims to expand to all 47 Counties.
