United Kingdom lauds Kenya for advancing peace in the region

The United Kingdom has commended Kenya for the role it continues to play in advancing peace in the Horn of Africa.

Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs James Cleverly said Kenya remains the beacon of peace and has the responsibility of ensuring stability in the region.

He was speaking on Wednesday when he held talks with President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi.

President William Ruto said Kenya was keen on advancing relations with the UK, particularly in the areas of security, trade, energy, agriculture, wildlife and health.

“The UK is our key trading partner. We remain strong partners and commit to being on the frontline in the conservation of the environment,” he explained.
