President William Ruto on Wednesday launched the construction of Nairobi Railway City at the Nairobi Railway Station.

He was accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja.

Others were UK Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.

The city will be a complementary convergence of the Nairobi Integrated Urban Master plan, the Nairobi Transport Master plan and the Nairobi Community Railway Master plan.

President William Ruto said the plans are aimed at achieving critical objectives including creating a transit hub and expanding the city to the southeast.
