Kenyatta University vice chancellor Paul Wainaina on Wednesday returned to the university in the company of about 100 students to reclaim his position.
He was sacked in July but obtained orders stopping the sacking.
His return comes after the council that sacked him resigned earlier this week.
The decisions of that council have been overturned by the new council.
“Honesty pays. I’m back and we will handle the issues that made me go away,” Wainaina said after being reinstated.
