•Kindiki had promised to take a break to reorganise himself after he failed to clinch the Kenya Kwanza running mate position.
Interior Cabinet Secretary nominee Kithure Kindiki has arrived for vetting in Parliament.
Kindiki arrived at around 8:30 clad in a navy blue suit and a red-dotted tie for his vetting.
He will take up the critical security docket if he is successful.
Kindiki will be in charge of a sector that Kenyans lost confidence in and one whose image has been badly tarnished.
He was on the Kenya Kwanza Coalition vetting list for presidential running mate to Ruto, a position that went to Rigathi Gachagua. Virtually all Raila Odinga's allies wanted Kindiki but Ruto defied them all and went with Gachagua out of "loyalty."
