[PHOTOS] Passersby loot tomatoes from overturned truck

It was a looting spree early hours of Sunday when a truckload of tomatoes overturned near Manyani on Mombasa-Nairobi highway.

Locals descended on the overturned lorry and carted away tomatoes with sacks and containers.

Other motorists also stopped and loaded their vehicles with the loot before proceeding with their journey.

Traffic police on site had a hard time controlling members of public from looting the tomatoes.

The cause of the accident was not immediately established.

It also remained unclear where the cargo was being transported to.
