President William Ruto on Wednesday held a meeting with UN deputy secretary general Amina Mohamed.

In a statement, Ruto said they held talks on climate change, among other regional issues.

He reiterated that the Government of Kenya seeks to intensify partnerships in regional peace and security.

"Kenya commits to sustain and enhance effective collaboration with the United Nations on climate change and intensify its partnership in regional peace and security as a necessary platform for the realisation of our mutual objectives," he said.

Ruto met the deputy SG at State House, Nairobi.

He added that the cooperation will advance the goal of building a united and prosperous global community.
