Outgoing DCI Director George Kinoti on Friday handed over power to acting director Hamisi Massa.
Massa was appointed on Thursday by the NPS Commission.
While addressing the DCI team, Massa congratulated Kinoti for his leadership and achievements during his term.
He also acknowledged the detectives' efforts in handling their duties.
"Dealing with serious and organised crimes that affect the livelihoods of Kenyans, the economy of our country and the relationship with other countries calls for dedication and selflessness, which our officers have so far exhibited outstandingly," he said.
He spoke during a luncheon at the DCI restaurant to bid farewell to former Kinoti.
Present during the ceremony were directors of various departments based at DCI headquarters, including the regional criminal investigations coordinators, heads of formations, units and section commanders.
